The Iowa Veterans Foundation News will try to keep veterans informed about news articles and links to news sources with information that may prove helpful to veteran organizations, veterans and their families.  We will not be posting any information that is purely intended to promote any person or political party for their campaign election.  This website page is to inform veterans about veteran issues and legislation to help veterans and their dependents.

        2025 4th Quarter Casino Donation- ‘Change to Make Change’ is the 4th charitable campaign which allows Harrah’s and Horseshoe guests             to donate any unused slot tickets as well as cash, coin, and chips into a donation box at both properties, to support a local nonprofit. For              4th quarter of 2025, half of the proceeds collected were donated to the Iowa Veterans Foundation. - Click here to see presentation Picture.



        Veterans Banner Project - Iowa Veterans Foundation is pleased to announce our latest project. We are raising money ($50,000) to install             brackets and banners along Veterans Memorial Highway in Council Bluffs. A fund has been set up at the Community Foundation for             Western Iowa(536 E. Broadway,Council Bluffs, Ia 51503) to collect the money. The Mayor of Council Bluffs has given us a written             endorsement. The City of Council Bluffs will do the initial installation of the brackets and banners. Please spread the word. As soon as we             achieve our fundraising goal, applications will be available to fill out. Honorable or medically discharged veterans are eligible. Veterans,             and families of veterans, are encouraged to complete applications when available.
